The fruit has high nutritional properties that make the litchi in a small but powerful food with various utilities. The lychee has a high content of vitamin C antioxidant that gives the fruit, promotes absorption of iron in the body involved in the formation of collagen, bones and teeth and improves resistance to infections. It is also the holder, to a lesser proportion of B vitamins, eg folic acid. It also contains minerals such as potassium and magnesium, both essential for proper functioning of the nervous system and muscles in general. It also has a lesser extent phosphorus and calcium, ideal for strengthening our bones. The water content is large, which determines that its calorific value is not very high. Containing seeds and pulp fiber which determined its use as a natural laxative and in turn, has little fat intake. Its nutritional properties have given this result multiple uses, including uses in cases of hypercholesterolemia, hypertension, hyperuricemia, stress, low defenses, anemia and cardiometabolic risk factors such as diabetes or obesity.
